Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 July 2026

This policy explains what personal data IELTSTeen collects, why, and your choices. Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider; card details are handled by that provider and are never seen or stored by us.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller for IELTSTeen is a self-employed person registered in the Republic of Uzbekistan, operating ieltsteen.com. For payment transactions, our third-party payment provider acts as an independent controller for the payment data it handles, under its own privacy policy.

2. Data we collect

3. How we use data

Our legal bases (where applicable, e.g. under GDPR) are: performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in running and securing the Service, your consent (where asked), and legal obligation.

4. AI processing of your essays

To generate feedback and band estimates, the text you submit to the Essay Checker is sent to a third-party AI provider (currently Anthropic, the maker of Claude) through their API. This processing is automated. We use this provider only to produce your feedback; we do not use your essays to train our own models. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in the text you submit.

6. Cookies & local storage

We use only the cookies and browser storage needed to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Any analytics we use are privacy-friendly and aggregate.

7. Data retention

We keep your account and content data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Billing records are retained by our payment provider and by us as required for tax and accounting law. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep certain records by law.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object or withdraw consent. You can delete your account from your account settings, or contact us to exercise any right. For payment data held by our payment provider, you can also contact that provider directly.

9. Children's privacy

IELTSTeen is used by IELTS learners, some of whom are under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you are under the age of majority in your country, please use the Service with a parent or guardian's involvement, and note that purchases must be made by an adult. If you believe a child has provided us data without appropriate consent, contact us and we will remove it.

10. International transfers

Our providers may process and store data on servers outside your country (including in the EU and the US). Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

11. Security

We use reputable providers and reasonable technical measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
